How To Make Air Fryer White Fish

I’m including two options for cooking this cumin paprika flavored fish: in the air fryer or on the stove-top. I’m sure you can grill or bake the fish but I have not done so yet. Having made it both ways, I don’t have a preference.

FAQs

What Type Of White Fish To Use

This recipe calls for 1 pound of white fish. White fish actually isn’t a type of fish. White fish refers to fish with a mild taste and white flesh. When it comes to the type of white fish to use here…that’s up to you. I used one pound of cod. Suggestions for a white fish to use in this recipe include halibut, snapper, tilapia, pollock, haddock, swai, or sole. Use your preferred type of fish!

Air Fryer Or Stove-Top

I include instruction to cook this in the air fryer or on the stove-top in the recipe box. The air fryer method uses a marinade and the stove-top version uses the same ingredients but as a sauce. While the ingredients are the same, the measurements are different so please make note depending on which method you choose.

How To Serve Air Fryer White Fish

How you serve this seasoned fish recipe will depend on your dietary restrictions. One thing I do recommend is to pour some of the sauce on top before serving.

Storing Leftover White Fish

Store leftover fish in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. I do not recommend freezing leftovers.

Tips For This Recipe

  • This is because some white fish are more delicate than others. Also, the thickness of the fish will dictate how long you need to cook it for. Use the cooking time as a guide.
  • Don’t let the fish sit in the marinade for more than 30 minutes. Lime juice is acidic & it will start to ‘cook’ the fish. Kind of like ceviche.
  • If you’re using the air fryer, before you add the fish to the marinade, set some aside. You’ll need it to pour on top of the fish before serving.
  • You don’t need to use white fish! This recipe works well with other types of fish like salmon.

Just wondering, but could you give me two or three ideas (more if you can) of what you could serve as side dishes for this meal? I know a lot of recipes for meat but I always have a hard time coming up with sides that work with it...

Of course. This is great paired with rice (regular or cauliflower depending on what your dietary needs are), mashed cauliflower or potatoes, and a simple salad. Or side of vegetables like green beans.

What other seasoning could I used if my husband doesn't like cumin?
