Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta is a stunning adults-only resort where all the rooms have ocean views, the employees are top-notch and the food is amazing. Last month I had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Fiesta Americana for 10 nights. From the minute I arrived, the experience was magnificent. This was only my second visit to Puerto Vallarta but after this vacation, I am vowing to make the trek more frequently. My first visit to PV was 5 years ago for my honeymoon. When we married, we said promised each other we would travel out of the country every year. I’m proud to say we’ve kept our promise. While we had a wonderful time on our honeymoon, we decided to focus on traveling to places we hadn’t been to before. So over the last couple years we visited places like Cabo San Lucas, Israel, Greece and Belize but not back to PV. That changed early this year when we were making plans with our dear friends from England who had never been to Mexico. We wanted an affordable vacation and Puerto Vallarta came up at the top of every search. Since the timing of our vacation fell over our 5 year anniversary we broke our rule and went back to Puerto Vallarta. Specifically to the Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta which we booked via Expedia.
When choosing a hotel, all-inclusive and adults-only were top requirements for us. A couple of years ago my husband and I visited the Secrets Marquis in Cabo San Lucas. It was our first time at an all-inclusive AND the first time we vacationed at an adults-only resort. It was a great experience that suited our jet setting, luxury loving, childless lifestyle. For our honeymoon 5 years ago, we stayed at Fiesta Americana. It’s the sister property of Grand Fiesta. Fiesta Americana is a wonderful family friendly property but Grand Fiesta was better suited for our needs. From the moment we arrived we were treated like VIP. From what I saw, that’s how they treat all their guests. And honestly, that’s what made Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta so special. The staff is absolutely fantastic. Being an all-inclusive resort, we arrived with the expectation not really venturing outside of the resort once we got there. Don’t get me wrong, I have always felt safe in PV. Not leaving the resort is not about feeling unsafe. More so…why? The point of all-inclusive is you’re paying for the convenience of having everything at your fingertips. Being a foodie, resort food is important to me. With 6 restaurants and over 5 bars, I arrived at the resort with the expectation of eating (and drinking) all day, every day…for 10 days straight. Rest assured, I lived up to that expectation. For more pictures about the food see here.
Las Caletas is a beach excursion offered from Puerto Vallarta Adventures. Our group of 4 received complimentary passes from Grand Fiesta Americana after sitting through a resort vacation club presentation. You notice how I didn’t say time share? What Grand Fiesta offers is different from a time share…and we didn’t buy it. We made it clear we had no intention of buying and they were okay with that. You know how some presentations are very pushy? Not this one. I really like Jorge our Sales guy. So much that a month later I remember his name. Good sales guy, great properties, not the right buy for me. But we got Las Caletas out of it and it was totally worth the time. For more about my time on Las Caletas see here.
You know how the bride is supposed to feel beautiful on her wedding day? That wasn’t me. I only have 1 wedding picture hanging in my house and it’s us from at a distance. It’s a long story not worth sharing here. The point is, 5 years later I finally got the ‘wedding’ I wanted with a beautiful backdrop. From Iya assistance to planning the day with me via email to Ivan surprising us with a photographer AND drone video, the day was absolutely perfect. We finished the evening with a 4-course steak and lobster dinner with our friends in the gazebo. For more about my vow renewal at Grand Fiesta Americana see here.
Puerto Vallarta is only a 3 hour flight from Los Angeles, perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Now that I’ve put this in writing, I hope I hold myself to my vow and return to PV in 2017.
While I was not compensated monetarily, I did enjoy certain perks during my stay at Grand Fiesta Americana. All opinions expressed are 100% my own and uninfluenced.
