Cajun spices cook with a combination of shrimp, steak, and chicken in this low-carb, paleo, and whole30 recipe. Make this quick and healthy Creole-inspired meal in less than 30 minutes.

PIN FOR LATER
With Mardi Gras coming up, I have Cajun recipes on my mind. This is probably repetitive but OMG is it really March already? Wow. I’m taking a break here from slow cooking, electric pressure cooking (Instant Pot), and air frying for a good old skillet recipe. I really struggled to find a name for this so I polled my followers on social media. Thank you to everyone who responded. Several of you suggested Cajun Surf & Turf which is obviously fitting because that’s literally all it is.
I used 1 pound of seafood and 1 pound of meat. For the seafood I used a full pound of shrimp but for the meat I combined both chicken and steak. But that’s me. I encourage you to make this recipe work to your liking, even if it means substituting some of my favorites with your favorites. Don’t eat red meat? Use all chicken instead. Don’t eat shrimp? Add another seafood like crawfish or scallops. Or omit the seafood all together and use only chicken and steak. You see where I’m going here.
I made this with boneless, skinless chicken breasts but chicken thighs are also a great option. I used ghee but an oil of your choice whether it be extra-virgin olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, etc can also be used in this recipe. Whatever fat or oil you want to use for this recipe is up to you. You see a red bell pepper here because that’s what I had. You can absolutely use green bell pepper. I just happen to have red.
If you have a particular Cajun seasoning you like, you can sub that for the one I provided.

What to serve this with? I served this with cauliflower rice to keep it the trifecta (low-carb, paleo, whole30). Other serving suggestions for low-carb/keto include mashed cauliflower or zoodles.
If you’re following a paleo/whole lifestyle but not low-carb, you can serve this with potatoes or sweet potatoes. If not lifestyle at all, white/brown rice or even pasta is a great option!
Below is my homemade go-to Cajun blend. What you see in this recipe is a modified version of this. This is the original. I keep a batch of this in my pantry at all times.
I made this last night with just chicken & shrimp. It came out SO good! Thanks you for the recipe.
This looks tasty! Nice video!
