My cookbook was released today! I still can’t believe it. To be presented with an opportunity to publish my first cookbook so soon after the launch of this blog has been mind-blowing. I’ve been pinching myself for months now. I didn’t know what the expect but overall this experience has been extremely pleasurable. The team at Callisto Media is fantastic. Every single of them were so helpful and flat-out nice. I’m really proud of how this cookbook turned out. It’s more than just recipes. I like to think of it as Slow Cooking 101. I explain everything from how to choose the right slow cooker to which foods are best for slow cooking. There’s also nutritional information for each recipe and even a measurement conversion index. I’m happy to share a few recipes here with you. Like this Lamb and Apricot Tagine with Chickpeas! It’s one of my favorites from the book.

If you haven’t noticed, I tend to follow certain patterns with the recipes I create for this blog. In general I tend to follow a whole30 or paleo lifestyle so I don’t cook a lot of things like pasta, beans, lentils, rice, etc. There are full chapters dedicated to ingredients like these in my cookbook! I was challenged to think outside the box and get creative. Needless to say, there were a lot of late nights of recipe testing. But the end result is that there’s literally a recipe for everyone.

Some recipes you might recognize from this blog; a few were enhanced and included. Outside of those, there’s over 100 brand new healthy recipes made for people on the go. All the recipes are 15 minutes or less of prep time and they cook in the true set-it-and-forget-it fashion of low and slow (most of the recipes have 6+ hours cook time).  I will be sharing more recipes from the cookbook here and on social media over the next few months so stay tuned!
