Store-bought Indian sauces usually contain all-natural ingredients. This vindaloo masala sauce is the perfect base for a healthy slow cooker recipe.
I’m back to my cooking with sauces series with this vindaloo masala sauce. Anyone else LOVE Indian food? Behind American, Indian and Thai are tied for my second favorite cuisine. I particularly like store-bought Indian sauces because they’re healthy. If you read the back for the ingredients, you’ll find that most of them contain all natural ingredients.
I got this sauce from Wells Fargo! Yes the bank. Turns out my husband’s banker’s family owns Curry-Delights. Most people would not care about that but when my husband came home one day with a couple of jars of sauce and a grilling kit, I was ecstatic. This is the last of the sauces. It seemed only fitting to include it in this series. To Vic at Wells Fargo – THANK YOU for the sauces. They were all fantastic!
What is vindaloo masala? Vindaloo is an Indian curry and masala is a South Asian term for a spice mix. This jar of vindaloo masala is both paleo and whole30 compliant. While this was intended to be a simmer sauce, like things it can absolutely be used in the slow cooker. I didn’t even dilute it.
This another recipe where you can use any cut of chicken. I used all dark meat – a combo of thighs and legs. I used an orange bell pepper and white sweet potatoes. You can use your preferred potato.

I never thought before about looking for this kind of sauce at my grocery store. Now I'm intrigued to find if they carry it so I can make this dish.
