Slow cooker hot dogs is a recipe that allows you to cook hot dogs in bulk. With minimal fuss, you will have ballpark-like steamed weiners at your disposal. Cook as many as your crockpot will fit or cook just enough for a party of 2. Instructions to make bulk hot dogs in the Instant Pot are also in this post.
This is a common recipe or more so, method of cooking hot dogs. I didn’t come up with this brilliant idea myself. These come out tasting like steamed hot dogs which personally I love. You know, the type of hot dogs you get at a baseball stadium.

What Are Hot Dogs
Hot dogs are cooked sausages served on a split bun. Different variations are eaten worldwide. Are they healthy? It depends. They tend to have a bad rap and rightfully so. A lot of commercial hot dogs are made with a mixture of meats, syrups, and ingredients I can’t pronounce. Having said that, nowadays there are plenty of healthier options with all-natural ingredients.
How Many Hot Dogs To Use
The answer will depend on these two questions: how many people are you feeding and how large is your slow cooker? I have cooked as little as 8 and as up to 48 at once. If you stand the hot dogs up vertically, a medium-size slow cooker (3.5 to 4-quart) should hold up to 48 regular length. A 6-quart appliance should hold up to 64. If you lay them down horizontal, obviously less will fit in the appliance.
What Size Of Hot Dogs To Use
The brand of hot dog doesn’t matter; use whatever brand you like. Pay attention to the size. Regular size hot dogs will fit in the slow cooker standing up. Bun length will not fit standing up with the lid on. They need to lay down to fit in the slow cooker properly. I find this to be the case with most oval-shaped slow cookers.
