Slow Cooker Supreme Pizza Stew

Supreme pizza is a popular pizza topping available at pizzeria’s across America.  There are tons of variations of supreme pizza out there; almost every pizzeria puts their own spin on it. The usual ingredients include: ground meat like sausage or beef, pepperoni, red onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms.

Ingredients For Supreme Pizza Stew

  • Ground Sausage
  • Ground Beef
  • Pepperoni
  • Bell Pepper
  • Red Onion
  • Mushrooms
  • Black Olives
  • Beef Broth
  • Crushed or Diced Tomatoes
  • Garlic & Seasonings: dried oregano, salt, pepper

How To Make Supreme Pizza Stew In The Crockpot

Slow Cooker

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground sausage and ground beef. Cook 5-7 minutes until the meat is no longer pink, crumbling the meat as it cooks. Drain the grease and add the ground meat to the slow cooker.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients to the slow cooker. Stir to mix well.
  3. Cook HIGH 3-4 hours, LOW 6-8.

Instant Pot

  1. Turn on the pressure cooker and select sauté. Once hot add the ground sausage and the ground beef to the pot. Cook 5-7 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink.  Crumble the beef as it cooks. Drain excess grease from the pot.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  3. Close and seal vent. Select high pressure and set time for 25 minutes. When cooking time is complete, quick-release pressure.

Storing Leftovers

Store leftover slow cooker supreme pizza stew an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To freeze leftover stew, let the stew cool completely. Once cooled, add the stew to an air tight container, freezer-friendly plastic bag, or souper cubes. Store the stew in your freezer for up to 2 months. To reheat frozen supreme pizza stew you have two options. You can either thaw the stew overnight  in the refrigerator OR add the stew directly to the slow cooker or Instant Pot & thaw on the warm setting!

FAQs & Tips

  • Tailor this stew to your liking using ingredients you like. For example, if you don’t like olives then simply omit them. 
  • For this to be Whole30 compatible, be sure to us a compliant pepperoni. Or omit it. 
  • Make this a soup! Add 3 additional cups of low-sodium beef broth and this stew will be a nice & comforting pizza soup.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 pound ground beef, seasoned with salt & pepper
  • 15 ounces crushed or diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 ounces pepperoni, chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 ounces black olives, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil of your choice

Instructions

Slow Cooker
