Slow cooker traditional oatmeal recipe is a fuss-free way to start your day healthy. Here I will show you how to make oatmeal overnight in the slow cooker or in just 4 minutes in the Instant Pot.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 2 cups milk of your choice (I use almond milk)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or sweetener of your choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Slow Cooker

  1. Spray slow cooker generously with cooking spray.
  2. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker. Stir to mix well.
  3. Cook HIGH 3-4 hours or LOW 6-8 hours.
  4. Stir well before serving.

Instant Pot

  1. Spray the Instant Pot generously with cooking spray.
  2. Add all the ingredients. Stir gently to mix well.
  3. Close lid and seal valve. Set high pressure for 4 minutes. When cooking time is complete, let the pressure release naturally before opening.
  4. Stir well before serving.
