This slow cooker strawberry basil jam is made with just a handful of natural ingredients and no added sugar, pectin, or preservatives. Perfect for spreading on your preferred baked bread, mixing into yogurt, or adding to your favorite desserts, this jam is as healthy as it is tasty. Making jam in the crockpot is pretty foolproof. Add all the ingredients and let it cook!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 24 ounces strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/3 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup honey

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker except the fresh basil to the slow cooker. Stir to mix well.
  2. Cook HIGH 1 to 2 hours or LOW 2 to 4. You’ll know it’s done when the strawberries are soft. Stir in the fresh basil.
  3. Using an immersion blender, potato masher or even a spoon, mash the jam until it’s your desired consistency.

Notes

Add jam to a container with a lid (mason jar preferred). Cool and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
