Slow Cooker Supreme Pizza Stew

Slow cooker supreme pizza stew has takes the flavors of a supreme pizza…but in soup form! This comforting soup is gluten-free, paleo, Whole30 compatible & low-carb. Instructions to make this easy pizza inspired soup in the Instant Pot are also included.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 pound ground beef, seasoned with salt & pepper
  • 15 ounces crushed or diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 ounces pepperoni, chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 ounces black olives, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil of your choice

Instructions

Slow Cooker

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground sausage and ground beef.  Cook 3-5 minutes until the meat is no longer pink, crumbling the meat as it cooks. Drain the grease and add the ground meat to the slow cooker.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients to the slow cooker. Stir to mix well.
  3. Cook HIGH 3-4 hours, LOW 6-8.

Instant Pot

  1. Turn on the pressure cooker and select sauté. Once hot add the ground sausage & ground beef to the pot. Cook 5-7 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink.  Crumble the beef as it cooks. Drain excess grease from the pot.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  3. Close and seal vent. Select high pressure and set time for 20 minutes. When cooking time is complete, manually quick-release the pressure.
