FAQs & Tips

You don’t need any liquid for the slow cooker?

You do not. The condensation and the melted butter is enough.

Can I use frozen green beans?

Yes, but I do not recommend it. If you must use frozen green beans, reduce the cooking time by at least an hour to avoid mushy beans.

What else can you add to this?

As you can see in the pictures, I added bacon. Other suggestions include smoked meat like turkey or ham hocks.

How do you store leftovers?

Store leftover slow cooker green beans in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

What size slow cooker did I use?

I used my 3.5-quart slow cooker for this recipe. Feeding a larger crowd? Double the recipe and use a larger slow cooker.
