What Are Hot Dogs

Hot dogs are cooked sausages served on a split bun. Different variations of hot dogs are eaten worldwide. Are dogs healthy? Hot dogs have gotten a bad rap over the years and rightfully so. A lot of commercial hot dogs are made with a mixture of meats, syrups, and ingredients I can’t pronounce. Having said that, nowadays there are plenty of healthier hot dog options. Many brands make uncured hot dogs that use all-natural ingredients.

What Is An Air Fryer?

What is an air fryer exactly? The name air fryer is a little bit confusing, because when you cook food in your air fryer you aren’t actually frying it. An air fryer cooks your food by circulating hot air around the food at a very high-speed, cooking the food and producing a crispy ‘fried’ layer. This is called convection so your air fryer is actually a small countertop convection oven. An air fryer can help you cook your food faster while still getting a nice baked or fried texture on the outside, all with a very small amount of oil. Air fryers come in a variety of different sizes and styles. What you see here in the pics is a 5.8-quart air fryer that easily fit 4 regular size hot dogs & their buns.

Hot Dog Toppings

I could write an entire blog post about the toppings I have seen people put on their hot dogs. Ketchup, mustard, relish, hot dog chili sauce, sauerkraut, etc. Whatever your fancy, add it to the hot dog!

Storing Leftover Hot Dogs

You can store an leftover cooked air fryer hot dogs in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can also freeze the leftovers for up to 2 months.
