This slow cooker cube steak is a savory, fuss-free recipe. Tenderized beef slow cooks in a rich onion gravy the cooks directly in the crockpot along with the meat. Using only 5 ingredients, this easy cube steak crockpot recipe pairs perfectly with anything that will soak up that flavorful sauce. Ingredients

  • 1 pound cube steak
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 1/2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/4 cup arrow root starch or corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons dry onion soup mix (see below for homemade blend)
  • salt & pepper

Dry Onion Soup Mix

  • 1 tablespoon dried onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Add the broth, starch, and the dry onion soup mix the slow cooker. Whisk until well blended and there are no lumps.
  2. Season the cube steak with salt and pepper and add to the slow cooker.
  3. Cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours or LOW 6 to 8.
