Ingredients For Slow Cooker Ground Turkey Bowl

  • Ground Turkey
  • Potatoes
  • Vegetables
  • Chicken Broth
  • Seasonings: salt, pepper, dried thyme

How To Make Slow Cooker Ground Turkey Bowl

Slow Cooker

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet. Once hot, add the ground turkey. Cook 5-7 minutes or until the ground turkey is no longer pink. Crumble the meat as it cooks. Drain the grease and add the turkey to the slow cooker.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients. Stir to mix well.
  3. Cook HIGH for 2 to 3 hour or LOW 4 to 6.

Instant Pot

  1. Turn on the pressure cooker and select sauté. Add the oil. When hot, add the ground turkey, carrots, bell pepper, mushrooms, and onion. Cook 5-7 minutes, crumbling the ground turkey as it cooks. Add the garlic and cook an additional minute. Drain the fat from the Instant Pot if needed.
  2. Stir in all remaining ingredients. 
  3. Close lid and seal valve. Set high pressure and cook for 10 minutes. When cooking time is complete, quick release the pressure.

FAQs & Tips

Can you use frozen vegetables? 

You can! Use 2 pounds of vegetables, whether they are fresh, frozen, or canned.  

Can you use other vegetables?

Of course! Use what I have in the recipe box a a guide. If you do not like mushrooms, omit them! Like corn? Add it in! The sky is the limit. I encourage you to make this recipe your own.  

What type of potatoes should you use?

Use your preferred potatoes! Russet, yellow, red, or even sweet potatoes. What you see in the pictures is peeled and chopped russet potatoes. 

How do you store leftovers?

Store leftover slow cooker ground beef turkey bowl in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. 

What size slow cooker did you use?

I use a  6-quart slow cooker or Instant Pot for this recipe.

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 pound potatoes, peeled & chopped
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1/2 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 carrot, peeled & sliced
  • 1/3 cup onion, diced
  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 4 ounces mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Instructions

Slow Cooker
