FAQs & Tips
What is Tuscan chicken?
Tuscan chicken is a creamy chicken dish usually made with chicken, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and a creamy sauce inspired by Italian flavors.
Can you use chicken thighs?
Yes! Chicken thighs work great with this recipe as well. Cooking time remains the same.
What type of sun-dried tomatoes should you use?
I like to use oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes. I suggest you add a little of the oil into the slow cooker; it adds depth to the sauce.
Can you make this dairy-free?
Yes. Substitute the heavy cream with full-fat coconut milk and omit the grated Parmesan.
Can you add other vegetables?
Sure. I suggest vegetables like mushrooms, zucchini, or artichokes.
How do you serve this?
This dish pairs well with pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, mashed cauliflower, or even zucchini noodles for low-carb.
How do you store leftovers?
Store leftover slow cooker Tuscan chicken in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
What size slow cooker did you use?
I use a 6-quart slow cooker or Instant Pot for this recipe.
