FAQs & Tips

What kind of ham should you use?

This recipe calls for a spiral-cut ham. This is recommended because it allows the glaze to seep into every slice. If you use a non-cut, whole ham, I suggest you score the surface to help it absorb flavor.

What size of ham should you use?

Pick a ham that will fit your slow cooker. I suggest a ham that’s between 5 to 7 pounds.

Are you cooking the ham or reheating it?

Most spiral hams are already cooked so you’re really just reheating it.

Should you add any more liquid?

Nope! No other liquid is needed beyond the pineapple and its juice. The ham will also release its own juices as it slow cooks.

How do you serve this?

This slow cooker ham is perfect for holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Serve this alongside comforting sides like candied yams, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

How do you store leftovers?

Store leftover crockpot ham in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

What size slow cooker should you use?

I used a 6-quart slow cooker or Instant Pot.

  1. I made this for Easter and it was a hit. I initially got a 11 pound ham and it didn’t fit so I exchanged it for a 7 pounder. I will make this again for Christmas!
