FAQs & Tips

What is a boneless turkey breast?

A boneless turkey breast is the breast portion of the turkey with the bone removed. This usually weighs between 2 to 3 pounds.

Can you cook this from frozen?

If you use the slow cooker, the turkey breast needs to be thawed first. With the Instant Pot, you can cook this from frozen but you will need to add additional cooking time. This will vary depending on the size of your turkey.

Should you remove the string?

Your boneless turkey breast will most likely come wrapped in twice. Whether or not you remove this before cooking is up to you. As you can see, I remove the butcher’s string on.

How do you store leftovers?

Store leftover slow cooker boneless turkey breast in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

What size slow cooker did I use?

I use a 3.5-quart slow cooker for this recipe. Feeding a larger crowd? Double the recipe and use a larger slow cooker.

How should you serve this?

Serve boneless turkey breast plated with sides, chopped in a salad, or even in soups. The sky is the limit!

  1. Can you cook carrots, potatoes, or other vegetables in the slow cooker at the same time, the way you can with a beef roast?

I was nervous making a turkey recipe before thanksgiving without trying it first. I did a small test run with a 2 pound butterball turkey that I found on sale. This came out great. No gravy but I will make that on the side. I will use this for Thanksgiving since it’s just me, husband, and son.

  3. Very good. Light and easy. I started thawing this turkey as soon as I saw you posted this recipe. My family enjoyed it! My only complaint is that there isn’t any gravy. I had to make my own. I will definitely make this again!
