This air fryer chili cheese dogs recipe is comfort food that you can eat any time of the year. Quickly cook the hot dogs to perfection in the air fryer then add it to a bun and top with your chili & cheese. A few minutes later you have tasty hot dogs made with ease in the air fryer.

  • Hot Dog Buns
  • Cooked Chili
  • Cheese

How To Make Chili Cheese Dogs In The Air Fryer

  1. Add hot dogs to the air fryer.
  2. Cook 390 degrees for 5 minutes.
  3. They will be hot so carefully remove the hot dogs from the air fryer and place them in the buns.
  4. Spread the chili, diced onions (if using), and cheese evenly across the top of each hot dog. Place the hot dogs in the air fryer. You may need to cook them in batches.
  5. Cook 390 degrees for 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted to your liking.

Use your favorite brand of hot dogs for this recipe. It seriously doesn’t matter. Hot dogs have gotten a bad rap over the years and rightfully so. The stereotype is that most commercial hot dogs are made of with a mixture ingredients you can’t pronounce. Nowadays there are plenty of healthier hot dog options. Many brands make uncured hot dogs with all-natural ingredients.

How do you store leftovers?

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

I used a 5.8-quart air fryer for this recipe.

  • 4 hot dogs
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 1 cup cooked chili
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup diced onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add hot dogs to the air fryer.
  2. Cook 390 degrees for 5 minutes.
  3. The hot dogs  will be hot so carefully remove them from the air fryer.
  4. Place the hot dogs in the buns. Spread the chili, diced onions (if using), and cheese evenly across the top of each hot dog. Place the hot dogs back in the air fryer. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  5. Cook 390 degrees for 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted to your liking.

    I saw this on tour Facebook page & saved it. I used a different chili recipe but I followed your directions to cook the hot dogs in the air fryer. I then added my chili on top with cheese. Very easy.
