Here are healthy slow cooker buffalo chicken wings that are lactose-free, low-carb/keto, paleo, whole30, and use a homemade ranch mix! Serve these wings at your next game-day gathering, potluck or weekday snack.
This Sunday is Superbowl Sunday. I’m not having a party this year. Since the Steelers aren’t playing (I really thought this was their year), I’m looking forward to watching a stress-free game with my husband with no fanfare. Which also means we won’t be bingeing on tons of food. Just these wings and maybe an easy dip like my Slow Cooker Baba Ganoush.

2 lbs chicken wings

Homemade buffalo sauce

BEFORE
No milk and no pre-packaged ranch mixes! This paleo & whole30 compliant chicken wings recipe uses Frank’s hot sauce, ghee and my homemade ranch mix that I created for my Slow Cooker Mississippi Roast recipe. Here’s the homemade ranch mix for you. While you’ll only need 2 tbsp of this, the recipe listed below is for more. I like to store a batch of it my pantry.
Homemade Dry Ranch Mix
2 tbsp dried, chopped onions
1 tbsp parsley
1 tbsp chives
1 tbsp dill weed
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt

AFTER
I usually don’t take the time to broil my chicken after it’s done slow cooking because I’m too lazy. This recipe however I do think it needs it. Buffalo wings are definitely better with crispy skin. Carefully remove the wings from the slow cooker and add them to a foil-lined baking sheet. Save the sauce!
Just a few minutes under the broiler will do the trick. The wings will look naked when they come out…
Pour the leftover sauce from the slow cooker onto the wings after they’re done broiling, before serving. I like to add an additional 2 tbsp of hot sauce at this time as well.
Rather than pour the leftover sauce on top, you can also add the broiled wings back into the slow cooker.

PIN FOR LATER
Such a great recipe. Can you use drumsticks, too? Thank you!
Absolutely.
Are all the herbs (parsley, dill, chives) dried for the ranch mix? thanks.
Yes they are all dried.
What liquid should I add to the ranch mix? And how much?
The ranch mix is mixed in with the hot sauce and melted butter.
This slow cooker buffalo chicken wings look so superb! I think it’s the best finger food for Superbowl Sunday! It looks so yummy! Very easy to do as well.
I was wondering how you got them so crispy in the slow cooker and then I saw you broiled them afterwards. Great idea – they look scrumptious!
It really amazes me all the different things you can do in a slow cooker and these buffalo chicken wings sound absolutely delicious!
Will be making these for Super Bowl – great timing! Thank you
