The result is kernels that are incredibly tender, sweet, and rich in flavor. Instructions to make this boiled milk corn recipe in the Instant Pot are also included.

  • Corn on the Cob
  • Water
  • Milk
  • Sugar
  • Salt

How To Make Milk Boiled Corn In The Slow Cooker

Slow Cooker

  1. Add the water, milk, salt, and sugar (if using) to the slow cooker. Stir to mix well. Add the corn. You make need to break the pieces of corn in half, depending on the size of your slow cooker.  Place the butter on top. 
  2. Cook HIGH 2-3 hours or LOW 4-6.

Instant Pot

  1. Add the water, milk, salt, and sugar (if using) to the Instant Pot. Stir to mix well. Add the corn. You make need to break the pieces of corn in half, depending on the size of your pressure cooker.  Place the butter on top.
  2.  Close & seal vent. Select high pressure and set time for 5 minutes. When cooking time is complete, quick-release the pressure.

What is milk boiled corn?

Milk boiled corn is corn on the cob is boiled in with milk and water. Common additional ingredients include butter, sugar, salt, and sometimes garlic. This crockpot version allows the butter to infuse with the corn; the result is a velvety texture. 

Can you use frozen corn? 

Yes you can. Substitute frozen corn for the slow cooker or Instant Pot version without having to make any modifications to the cooking time.

Can you make this vegan?

You can easily make this recipe vegan friendly by using an oat milk or nut milk and a vegan butter. Or simply omit the butter.  

How do you store leftovers?

Store leftover slow cooker milk boiled corn in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. 

How do you serve this?

Serve this milk boiled corn how you would normally serve corn on the cob. Personally I find that I don’t need to add any additional butter, just a tad of salt.

I used a large 6-quart slow cooker or Instant Pot for this recipe.
