St. Patrick’s Day is coming up which usually means a lot of people will be cooking corned beef. Here’s 5 corned beef recipes for the slow cooker, Instant Pot, or air fryer.
WHAT IS CORNED BEEF
Corned beef is beef brisket that’s cured in a seasoned brine. When cooked, the corned beef will have a dull, gray color on the outside. Don’t worry, this is normal. This means it’s cooked. When you slice the corned beef, the inside should have the normal pink coloring that you’re used to. The pink coloring in corned beef comes from the beef being cured in either saltpeter or sodium nitrates.
HOW TO SERVE CORNED BEEF
Corned beef is meant to be served sliced against the grain. When cooking time has completed, let the corned beef rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
STORING LEFTOVER CORNED BEEF
Store leftover corned beef in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 day. You can also freeze cooked, leftover corned beef. To do so, add the beef to a freezer-friendly zip-lock back. It will store for up to 2 months in the freezer.
